Pastries and woodwork

Paris produces great pastries in the Marais, it used to be as well known for its cabinetmaking tradition. This can be seen in the Carnavalet museum. The area originally just beyond the city walls, called Faubourg Saint-Antoine, on the Seine banks, has been producing the great city's extravagant luxury furniture from the earliest days.
